Allison L. Mears, Behavior Support Specialist

Hi everyone!  I'm Allison Mears.  I'm in my 11th year with DMESC and I love my job!

I worked for seven years as the Early Childhood Behavior Specialist working with teachers and families of children in preschool.   The past four years have been spent working with Kindergarten-12th grade students/teachers/parents.  Before coming to work for the coop, I worked in private practice and at Wadley Hospital as a Licensed Professional Counselor.  I'm a lifelong resident of Foreman.  My husband, Shane, and I have one son, Lawson.  When I'm not at work, I love spending time with my family, being outdoors, and watching the Arkansas Razorbacks!

As the Behavior Support Specialist, I serve all 12 of our districts.  Behavior support services are available to children in the special education program.  A behavior request can be submitted by any district administrator (superintendent, principal, or special education supervisor) or parent.  Services include (but are not limited to):

  • Professional development for teachers and parents
  • Assistance with developing, programming, and planning for students with behavioral concerns (FBA/BIP).
  • Help with identification of specific learning disabilities

I find my job challenging, but very rewarding.  I love hearing success stories from students, parents, and teachers.   Please feel free to contact me at any time!
